Roshek Building
In 1932 the Roshek Department Store was the center piece of downtown Dubuque IA and held the distinction as the tallest department store ever built in Iowa. In 2009 extensive rehabilitation of the building was under taken to restore the historic building, strengthen the existing urban fabric of the community, and is now home to IBM’s Delivery Center of North America. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010 and has been awarded LEED Platinum Certification
The lighting effectively combined historic preservation with LEED certification. Careful research and detailed design of historic pendants helped St. Louis Antique Company replicate the them. Highlighting of historic column capitals, railings, and center grand chandelier with energy efficient light sources helped boost the light levels of the 2-story main entry lobby and acquire LEED status.
